I was youngest of 5 children, brought up in a catholic family in Grangetown, Cardiff at the start of 2nd War. My dad died when I was 4 months old, so never had the love of a father. My mum died when I was 15 years old. My grandmother was the real influence in us following the catholic doctrine. I didn’t like it or understand it, the mass was all in Latin.
I met and fell in love with my wife June in 1964 and married in 1966, We had 2 amazing boys, Andrew & David. Emigrated to South Africa in 1975 until 1977. We moved to Barry after returning from South Africa. We began attending a church in Barry and after hearing what Jesus did for us on the cross, both my wife and I were saved in 1983. In 1987, my wife June died of cancer in my arms.
I went to visit 5 countries in South America with a Pastor friend. One of the countries was Brazil. God called me to live & work amongst the poor and needy in Belo Horizonte. I met my new wife Sandra there; we fell in love & got married in 1993. After losing 2 babies, we adopted our son Lucas who was 9 months old. We spent 20 years working in the favelas (slums), sharing the love of Jesus as a Pastor, Missionary and Evangelist, and built a church and a Pre -School.
We returned to Wales in 2009, went back to my original evangelical church in Barry. Some years later we were blessed to meet Pastor Kevin, Anna & boys. God was showing us through his Holy Spirit that we needed to join Princes Street Church. We have been so blessed after making the decision to be members at PSEBC and seeing how much God is using both Kevin & Anna. God never ceased to amaze us. Now I am serving as an elder with Mark Morgan, a lovely man of God, endeavouring to bring salvation through the love of our Saviour Jesus Christ & really excited at what God is going to do.
